Start your Alice Springs adventure by exploring the vibrant city. Visit the social enterprise project, Tjanpi Desert Weavers. Tjanpi artists use native grasses to make spectacular contemporary fiber art, weaving beautiful baskets and sculptures and displaying endless creativity and inventiveness. Then join an afternoon cultural tour to Rainbow Valley with your host, a Traditional Custodian.
Pick up your rental car in Alice Springs. The Toyota Corolla hybrid hatch (or similar) is one of the most popular and trusted cars around. It’s roomy, easy to drive thanks to power steering, and comes with a reversing camera to help you park and back in those tricky spots. Spinifex Ballooning has been operating in the Alice Springs area since April 1992. After your flight toast your morning experience with sparkling wine and fruit juice. This will give you time to truly appreciate the vast tranquility of the desert before returning to your accommodation.
The Kangaroo Sanctuary is a place to celebrate the beauty of the Red Kangaroo – an Australian icon. On this guided sunset tour you will experience a leisurely walk through the Sanctuary’s 188 acre wildlife reserve where you might meet the kangaroo characters from Kangaroo Dundee (BBC/Nat Geo Series) and many others. The Sanctuary is located just outside Alice Springs (the centre of Australia) and is home to Brolga and Tahnee’s kangaroo family. The kangaroos come first, and because kangaroos sleep during the day we don’t disturb them. This is why the guided tours are in the late afternoon — just when the kangaroos are starting to wake from their day-time sleep!

As the sun sets, the colours of the ranges deepen to a glowing red and the sky shifts from cobalt blue to orange pink. What better vantage point than from the top of a camel! Meet your camel and cameleer, and experience transport from another era. See a variety of native wildlife, relax and enjoy the ride.
