Day 1 - Darwin

Welcome to Darwin! Get ready to experience the incredible 'Natures Way' itinerary in the incredible Northern Territory. Check in to your luxurious accommodation and enjoy everything the famous Vibe hotel has to offer. After picking up your SUV it's time to experience a 'welcome to country' with Trent from Saltwater tours.

Start your Darwin adventure with a 3-hour cultural tour. Learn about the land from a traditional owner from the Larrakia Peoples. Starting with a welcome to country, you will then learn traditional language, spear throwing, fire making and sting making techniques that have been used for tens of thousands of years.

Day 2 - Darwin

For your first full day in Darwin, you will have the choice of exploring the culturally rich city or climb aboard Matt Wright's Helicopter Fishing tour (optional). To finish the day we've organised a sunset sail complete with champagne and food.

Day 3 - Darwin to Kakadu National Park

It's time to depart Darwin and head to the famous Kakadu National Park. On the road, you'll stop at Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise to experience an Aboriginal owned and operated cruise on the Adelaide River. Next it's off to see the gallery of Ubirr Rock Art, before checking in to your accommodation in Kakadu.

Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruises is the only aboriginal owned cruise on the Adelaide River. This means you are not just getting a croc cruise, you are introduced to the floodplains ecosystem, it’s history, wildlife and a peek in to over 40,000 years of human interaction with this stunning environment.

Ubirr Rock Art

Explore Ubirr which hosts some of the world’s most outstanding rock art and is one of the reasons for Kakadu’s dual World Heritage status. The paintings document ancient human interaction with the environment. A few galleries have an extra element of intrigue with some of the first interactions with non-Aboriginal people recorded.

DAY 4

Day 4 - Kakadu National Park

For your first day in Kakadu National Park we recommend exploring one of Kakadu's lesser-known attractions, and one of Sean's favourites! Maguk Gorge is a pristine natural waterfall and plunge pool at the base of steep gorge walls. In the afternoon you'll get to experience Kakadu from the air. Take a 60-min sunset scenic flight `where you'll enjoy aerial views over the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park as the sun heads towards the horizon.

Sunsets are such an integral part of the Darwin culture, with entire events based around watching it. This Sunset Spectacular air tour is no exception to this. Enjoy aerial views over the World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park as the sun heads towards the horizon on a 60-minute scenic flight departing from Jabiru.

Maguk Gorge

One of Kakadu's lesser-known attractions, Maguk is a pristine natural waterfall and plunge pool at the base of steep gorge walls. Swim with the black bream in the plunge pool and marvel at the majestic endemic Anbinik trees along the rocky slopes.

Day 5 - Kakadu National Park

For your second full day exploring Kakadu you'll hike Nawurlandja Lookout Walk, before visiting Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) rock art site. To finish the day you'll experience the wonders of Yellow Water Billabong on a 90 minute sunset cruise. About one third of Australia's bird species are represented in Kakadu National Park, with at least 60 species found in the wetlands. You'll also have the opportunity to see crocodiles and buffalo roaming the floodplains.

The walls of the Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) rock art site, have served as a shelter and canvas for thousands of years. The paintings are a window to a rich spiritual tradition and can be reached by the circular 1.5 kilometre Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) rock art walk.

Nawurlandja Lookout Walk

Nawurlandja Lookout walk for sunrise is a spectacular short walk that finishes at a lookout with views over Anbangbang Billabong to Burrungkuy (Nourlangie Rock) and the Arnhem Land escarpment.

On the drive to Katherine stop and enjoy the picturesque waterfalls and great swimming that Leliyn (Edith Falls) has to offer. The area offers some great shorter hikes, so you can look forward to a rewarding swim to finish.

Just 30 minutes from Katherine is the Nitmiluk National Park. Explore the Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge via canoe (optional) or take a short drive to Bitter Springs at Elsey National Park, these spring-fed thermal pools are an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long drive, or while exploring the national park.

Day 8 - Katherine to Litchfield National Park

Explore Wangi Falls on your way to your accommodation in Litchfield National Park. Wangi Falls is one of the best-known and most popular attraction in Litchfield National Park. Enjoy one of many walking track options, before taking a dip in the pool, which is surrounded by lush monsoon rainforest. Check-in to your accommodation in Litchfield Park.

Tolmer Falls Look Out

Tolmer Falls is one of the most spectacular falls in the magnificent Litchfield National Park. It cascades over two high escarpments into one deep plunge pool. A short walk takes you to 2 viewing platforms at the top of the gorge, opposite the most spectacular waterfalls in the park.

Litchfield Tourist Park

Stay 2 nights at Litchfield Tourist Park which is the perfect location to explore Litchfield National Park. Located in the heart of cattle country, the Upper Finniss River meanders through the property, cattle and horses roam freely over the back fence and native birds and wildlife make themselves at home. You'll enjoy a Stockman's or Drover's cabin for your stay.

DAY 9

Day 9 - Litchfield National Park

Unlike Kakadu, with its sizeable distances between sites, Litchfield National Park has waterholes and waterfalls that are easily accessible. You can fit many of the park's sites into a day trip. Once inside the park's lush borders, make your first stop at the magnetic termite mounds – eerie, tombstone-like wonders of nature. We recommend exploring Florence Falls, and both the Upper & Lower Cascades.

Visit Florence Falls

Take a dip in Florence Falls. Located in Litchfield National Park, the spectacular Florence Falls cascade into a plunge pool, set in a pocket of monsoon forest.

Explore Upper & Lower Cascades

About a 6km hike in total, both the upper and lower cascades are worth the effort. The Cascades have several small pools for swimming in, most of which are around half a metre deep.

Visit Buley Rockhole

Next to Florence Falls you'll find this popular swimming spot. Wade through the pools, absorb the scenic bush surrounds or sit and relax, as the cool water rolls over your shoulders.

Litchfield Tourist Park

Litchfield Tourist Park which is the perfect location to explore Litchfield National Park. Located in the heart of cattle country, the Upper Finniss River meanders through the property, cattle and horses roam freely over the back fence and native birds and wildlife make themselves at home. You'll enjoy a Stockman's or Drover's cabin for your stay.

DAY 10

Day 10 - Litchfield to Darwin

All good things must come to an end. It's time to make your way back to Darwin to drop off the SUV and finish your trip.
