Luke is an award-winning Australian landscape, nature, and travel photographer based in Hobart, Tasmania. His major passion is inspiring people to respect and connect with the natural beauty in the world around them. Originally trained as a Quality Assurance professional with a Bachelor of Science degree, Luke worked for some of the world’s largest food and beverage companies to ensure the quality and integrity of their products. This same meticulous approach has been instilled in his photography, where he strives to create memorable natural landscape images from locations across his beloved Tasmania, wider Australia, and other parts of the world. The quality of Luke's work has been recognized by awards in many photography competitions, publications in books, calendars, and magazines, and work with corporations and charities.

Day 1: Launceston to Bay of Fires

Welcome to Tasmania! Pick up your X-TRAIL and drive to Binalong Bay for a spectacular stay at Bay of Fires Bush Retreat. The Retreat is only a short drive from the stunning sights of the Bay of Fires and is the perfect base to explore this iconic area.

Bay of Fires Bush Retreat - Luxury King Bell Tent

Bay of Fires Bush Retreat is a boutique accommodation located in a beautiful bush setting, only 5 minutes from the stunning beaches of the Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay. The retreat has shared bathroom and kitchen facilities and is a perfect base to explore the Bay of Fires and surrounding area, including the mountain bike trail networks at St Helens, the Blue Tier, Weldborough and Derby. Binalong Bay

The Bay of Fires Bush Retreat is located at the southern entrance to the Bay of Fires, 2 minutes' drive to the township of Binalong Bay, and 10 minutes' from St Helens. Travel north from the retreat along the Gardens Road to find the iconic white sand beaches, crystal blue water and the orange hued granite boulders the Bay of Fires is so famously known for. Travel south towards the coastline to find the Binalong Bay township, more white sand beaches, rock pools, snorkelling and diving nooks, and a lagoon that serves as the perfect location for kayaking and stand up paddleboarding.

Day 2: Bay of Fires

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your retreat. Today we recommend to explore the area. Travel north to find the iconic white sand beaches, crystal blue water and orange hued granite boulders. Travel south to find more white sand beaches, rock pools, snorkelling and diving nooks, and a lagoon where you can kayak or stand up paddleboard.

Bay of Fires Bush Retreat - Luxury King Bell Tent

wukalina Walk is a four-day/three-night First Nations owned and guided journey of cultural activities, bush tucka, traditional foods and two days of hiking. The tour takes place within the magnificent landscape of wukalina/Mount William and larapuna/Bay of Fires in north east lutruwita/Tasmania – traditional homelands of the palawa/pakana. The award-winning wukalina Walk is entirely different to anything else in lutruwita or, in fact, anywhere in the world. This is a truly special experience you can add to this trip.

You’ll experience Freycinet’s rich wildlife as you weave along the peninsula’s stunning coastline. Day 4: Freycinet National Park

Enjoy breakfast at Freycinet Lodge and depart for the stunning Wineglass Bay Cruise. Take in the sheer beauty of Wineglass Bay from the rarely seen perspective of the water, a shimmering crescent of white sand fringes spilling into glass turquoise waters. Morning tea, lunch and beverages are included in your Sky Lounge ticket.

Experience a 4½ hour cruise of the waterways surrounding Freycinet National Park from Coles Bay to Wineglass Bay with Wineglass Bay Cruises. Be enthralled by the stunning granite coastline, including the dramatic pink peaks of the Hazards range. Discover a coast dotted with sparkling white sand beaches, including Cooks and Bryans beaches, only accessible by water or a full-day bushwalk. You will be on the Sky Lounge, on the upper deck of Schouten Passage II. Wineglass Bay Lookout

Walk to one of Tasmania’s most iconic views — the stunning white beach of Wineglass Bay. A track takes you up through coastal woodland, past granite boulders, to the lookout. This is a steep uphill walk — around 1.3km each way.​ Once you’re at the saddle, it’s not far to the lookout platforms and a view that will reward your effort. If you're lucky, you can even spot whales or dolphins in the bay.

Day 5: Freycinet National Park to Triabunna

Drive to Triabunna to depart for One Day On Maria, a 4-hour scenic cruise of Maria Island including a walk of Maria's World Heritage listed convict settlement. Tonight you'll stay at Triabunna Barracks, a recently redeveloped 1840s sandstone Barracks and Stables transformed into a unique luxury B&B experience.

Join the most unforgettable all-inclusive day tour, cruising the renowned coastline of Maria Island and Tasmania's stunning East Coast. Your tour will depart from the Triabunna marina and includes a 4-hour scenic cruise of Maria Island's stunning coastline with a 2-hour stay on the island including a gentle walk of Maria's World Heritage listed convict settlement. A lunch will be enjoyed on the boat at anchor beside one of Maria Island's pristine beaches, including a selection of local wines and Tasmanian premium lager.

Triabunna Barracks is a recently redeveloped 1840s sandstone Barracks and Stables transformed into a unique luxury bed and breakfast experience. Located close to the Marina, this is your perfect gateway to Maria Island. You will stay in The Loft, a large upstairs suite with sandstone walls and cathedral ceilings, king sized bed (or twin singles), kitchenette, luxury bathroom with heated floors, including Tasmanian organic bath and shower products.

Day 6: Hobart

Drive to Hobart and stay at the Henry Jones Art Hotel, a luxury accommodation where history and art collide. Today you have the option to explore Hobart or take it up a notch — go for a helicopter flight to get a bird’s eye view of Hobart, the River Derwent and the majestic kunanyi / Mount Wellington which towers above the city.

How do I pay for my trip?

At the time of booking you will be asked to pay a deposit to secure your place on the trip. We ask for full-payment to be made prior to 60 days before arriving in your destination.

Will I get some free time whilst on tour?

This is a big yes! Our goal is to help you create your own adventure, and this includes giving everyone the opportunity to explore. We will always be there to offer suggestions, but we firmly believe some of the best parts of holidays come from unplanned moments.
