Bridestowe Lavender Estate runs over 260 acres and is the world’s largest privately-owned lavender farm. With an estimated 650,000 plants, the lavender rows stretch for about 200 kilometres in total. Get lost in the purple flowers, clean air and open spaces of the farm. The purple scenery is absolutely mesmerising and a great place for photos. If you feel like exploring today we recommend to visit the Little Blue Lake, a natural phenomenon resulting from the pioneering mining days of South Mount Cameron and the surrounding areas of the Far North East of Tasmania. Originally a mine hole, the lake reflects a vivid aqua blue from the minerals in its base. The locals love it for waterskiing, swimming is however not recommended due to the high mineral content in the water. Combine this drive with a visit to Waterhouse Conservation Area, home to three major permanent deep-water lagoons and a well-kept secret near Bridport. Don't forget your camera!
Drive to the Tamar Valley, one of Tasmania's prettiest regions boasting art, bush walks, an iconic wine route and a thriving local food scene. The Wine Route follows about 170 kilometres (105 miles) and visits more than thirty cellar doors – wineries both large and small. In your travel guide, we will provide you with recommendations for a 'taster tour'.

Welcome to Stanley, a town with well preserved colonial buildings, elegant cafes and quality B&B cottages, all sheltering in the imposing shadow of the Nut, an immense flat topped, volcanic plug rising 150 metres straight up from the water's edge. Soak up in the glorious views of Stanley from the Nut and visit the Highfield Historic Site.
A hot travel tip by Luke — soak up in the glorious views of Stanley and the surrounding farmlands at the top of the Nut, the remains of an ancient volcanic plug with a large, mostly flat surface that can be circumnavigated on foot. Bring your camera and decide if you prefer to walk, or opt for the chairlift. The walking track is short, but is for those who like a challenge since it is rather steep and you will be climbing the full 152 meters to get to the summit. Alternatively, go for the chairlift option and enjoy the beautiful views in a more relaxing way. At the top, you will be greeted by 360 views of the surrounding area and can explore the plateau. Capture breathtaking views of Stanley, the neighboring farmland, Bass Strait, and Rocky Cape National Park.
For the history buffs and a great photo opportunity, Highfield Historic Site offers a historically accurate vision of a 'gentleman's home' and farm of the 1830s. Remarkably intact, the house sits on a hillside overlooking the lands the manager would have once controlled, with views across to Stanley, the Nut and Bass Strait beyond. Take a step back in time and visit the Highfield Historic Site and the lavish gardens.

This is a fun, relaxing river cruise with a running commentary on the natural environment and cultural history. Come aboard the boat Jus’Leven, with a 6 maximum passenger capacity. The Jus’Leven vessel is a small, flat bottom which makes the boat ideal for navigating the tidal river and venturing in and out of lettlets around the shallow river banks for viewing special features of the estuary. On this tour you will receive commentary on the local river history, river environment and surrounds, look for the sea eagles, the very rare Tasmanian azure kingfisher, the goshawk, swamp harrier hawks along with many other species of birds and you may spot the elusive platypus in its natural surrounds.
